I was never quite able to get into shopping on Amazon until recently and now I can’t believe all the things I’ve found over there! Here are some more of my recent Amazon favourites for the home.
I used to think Amazon shopping was really only useful for people who were really interested in buying the latest new gadget, or for practical things like organizers for your home. I’ve really opened a can of worms now though because I’ve been discovering that it’s a really great source for all types of home decor items that I often have a hard time finding elsewhere. A lot of the items that I see on blogs or on Instagram just aren’t available to ship to Canada and I’ve often been able to find something similar – and a lot cheaper – by looking on Amazon. My “save for later” file on my Amazon profile is a little out of control right now because I keep finding things that I want to remember for future projects. There’s just so. much. good. stuff! Here are some of my very favourite recent Amazon finds.
Best Amazon Finds: January 2020
I shared a few other Amazon finds a little while back too, if you missed the first instalment. 🙂
Striped Turkish Towel
I love the fresh, simple patterns and colours of Turkish towels, and I can’t get over how many beautiful, affordably priced options there are to be found on Amazon. I have quite a few, but this most recent striped one is my favourite so far. It’s a great size to use as a light throw blanket or you can fold it in half and use it as a table runner like I’ve been doing!.. or, you know, as a towel. 🙂
Pom Pom Pillow Covers
I’ve had amazingly good luck with Amazon pillow covers. You can find just about anything on there for a very (very, very) reasonable price. The prices might actually seem almost a little too good to be true, but I’ve ordered some, just out of curiosity a few times and I’ve always been thrilled with the quality and durability of the pillow covers I’ve received. These pom pom pillow covers are my very favourites right now. They’re so fun and stylish and they’ve really stood up to quite a daily beating when Jack jumps all over them. They actually haven’t lost a single pom pom yet!
Gold Tea Spoons
I just thought these were so pretty so I ordered them for Chris to put in my stocking at Christmas. Ha! They have a really nice weight to them and they’re really beautiful in person.
Gold Scissors
I bought these scissors to keep in my little cross stitch bin. They ended up being great to use for ribbon at Christmastime as well. Super sharp and beautiful to look at, these just make me happy every time I reach for them.
Faux Eucalyptus
I have a love/hate relationship with this particular faux eucalyptus that I ordered. I think it looks great in a vase overall, but if you look at it too closely, it does look a bit too fake for my liking. I’ll probably explore some other options in the future, but it makes a great vase filler if you’ll have it up on a shelf, or maybe tucked in a corner where it won’t be examined in too much detail.
Here you can see it in my new IKEA vase on the buffet/sideboard/whatever you want to call it in the kitchen:
And here you can see some more of it up close in a pitcher on our kitchen shelves. It’s not the best, but it’s not the worst either.
Amazon Finds That Are in my Cart
There are all items that I have yet to receive, but that I’m super excited about.
Anchor Bookmarks
Aside from the fact that these are beautiful, these also keep your book open for you so you can read holding your book comfortably in just one hand, or even just have it open on the table in front of you. Just a great idea.
Rattan Coasters
I just can’t get enough rattan lately! These seem like a fun way to bring a little bit of it into your home. I definitely should be using coasters on my marble side table a little more often.
Gold Cabinet Pulls
I can’t get over the price on these! I’m strongly considering them for our new living room built-ins. The color is so on-trend, but they’re simple enough in design not to be too wild and crazy. At that price, it’s not a big deal if you feel like you need to switch them out after a year, although I don’t think I will.
Elements of Family Style Book
I just need this book for our new shelves. Not only does it look like something I would really love to read, it also has this beautiful blue and white spine so it will contribute to my blue and white decor goals while it sits on my shelves as well! Can’t beat that!
Blue and White Striped Tablecloth
There are a few things that I would really like to see make a comeback: Using good china, drinking from real crystal glassware, and I’ve recently decided that I’d like to add tablecloths to this list as well. I have this one in mind for the dining room.
Striped Throw Pillow Cover
I have too many pillows and pillow covers already, but at this price, this striped throw pillow cover might need to make an appearance in my home anyway.
So those are a few of my current favourites! I actually have quite a few more, but I’d be sitting here writing for days if I tried to include them all. Ha!
Have you found any great home decor pieces on Amazon recently?
