In today’s post I’ll be sharing some of the ideas I’ve been considering for my Christmas decorations this year. Here are my blue and white Christmas decor plans!
Brass Candlesticks | Blue Floral Jar | Faux Blueberry Picks | Brass Bells (similar bells here)
Giant Pinecone | Navy Blue Velvet Ribbon | Wood Dough Bowl (I have the small)
Black Watch Plaid Ribbon | Light Blue Throw (I bought two! Highly recommend for the price!)
This is probably the first year in many years where we haven’t had the Christmas tree up before Halloween and I’m just loving it. Actually, even though I’ve felt like I should start on my Christmas decor early so that I have something to share, I don’t love starting the season before mid-November or so. I like the idea of having a little break in between putting away all of the Halloween stuff and getting everything decked out for Christmas. It’s nice to have a little breathing room and a return to normalcy to collect your thoughts a little bit. So I’m rebelling against jumping into Christmas decor around the house right away and I’m waiting a couple of weeks. I’ve definitely been working on preparing for other aspects of Christmas though and I’ve started to formulate some of my decor plans too. This way I just have a little extra time to get excited about it beforehand. 🙂 Here are my blue and white Christmas decor plans!
Blue and White Christmas Decor Ideas
We had quite a bit of blue and white going on last year, and I’m really just expanding on those ideas a bit more this year. Last year I used a lot of faux blueberries and pinecones and nature-inspired elements out on the porch and this year I’ll just be bringing more of that inside as well because I just loved it all.
I’ll be layering in some eucalyptus, a few brass elements, and some natural wood elements inside too. And of course lots of fresh cedar from our giant hedge outside. It’s beautiful and it’s compostable and it’s free!… I just have to try to do a better job of misting it and keeping it from drying out than I do most years. 🙂
I’m quite excited about using navy blue velvet ribbon for our flocked tree this year. I used a black watch plaid ribbon last year, which I loved, but I really wanted to layer in navy blue velvet as well. Unfortunately, the stuff I had in mind sold out last year, but I made sure to buy mine early this year and I have it here all ready to go!
If I’m being totally truthful, I think my decorating helpers will almost definitely add in a few pops of red here and there with their favourite ornaments, but I’m OK with that. We don’t live in a magazine, but it’s still fun to plan and scheme like we do!
Some of the items I’m showing here are things I already own and a few are waiting patiently in my cart to be ordered.
What do you think of the idea of decorating for Christmas in all blue and white?
