Blue and white ceramics are a timeless, stylish choice that truly makes a statement. There’s a reason these pieces have been staples of traditional homes for generations.

I’ve always loved blue and white ceramics, and although they have a way of becoming really “on trend” every few years, they never really go out of style. I think this is because traditional design and timeless style fans like me just refuse to part with them. They have a way of defining a space in a way that makes them essential, and once you find the perfect spot for your favorite ginger jar or blue and white plate collection, nothing else seems to do. I often say that every traditional room needs at least a little bit of blue and white, and I think I may actually have at least one piece in every room of my home. Blue and white plates, and maybe the occasional bowl or vase, are easy enough to find in thrift stores if you’re diligent in your search, but it can be lovely to accent your collection with special pieces like ginger jars, platters, and maybe a lamp as well. Here are some of my favorites that are available right now to start or continue with your blue and white ceramics collection.
Favorite Blue and White Ceramic Finds

Large Round Ginger Jar | This is such a beautiful piece. An instant heirloom. Perfect for a buffet table in the dining room or a console table.
Cherry Blossoms Ginger Jar | Love the classic shape and the rich color of this ginger jar. Can you picture two of these placed symmetrically on a mantel? The timeless cherry blossom design is one you’ll never tire of.
Spode Blue Italian Pitcher | Spode’s Blue Italian is a favorite blue and white china pattern for many people, and probably one of the most recognizable. This pitcher would make a lovely gift for a collector of this pattern, or the perfect blue and white vase for fresh blooms. Imagine it with sunflowers!
Blue and White Sunflowers Platter | Speaking of sunflowers, this Spode platter has a unique blue and white sunflower print that feels classic and modern at the same time. This pattern might be a new favorite for me.
Affordable Rustic Vase | This rustic blue and white vase is an affordable, on-trend option if you’re looking to add a touch of blue and white traditional style to your modern vintage style room. I’m seeing these everywhere lately, and they’ve been so popular. This is one trend that I can definitely get behind.
Blue and White Dish Set | How stunning are these dishes? A soft blue pattern set on a cream background with floral and birds. I absolutely love the shape of these plates. Do I need these for my newly updated kitchen?
Blue and White Rug | Such a fun addition to any room! I love how this beautiful rug reminds me of the classic patterns of blue and white ceramic tiles.
Chinoiserie Table Lamp | This lamp has a beautiful, classic ginger jar shape with a lovely tapered shade. I absolutely love the birds in the design on this piece, which make it a little bit more special than your average blue and white lamp.
Blue and White Floral Plate | Love the unexpected, hand-painted look of this beautiful stoneware dinner plate. Such a beautiful piece for a plate wall, or sitting in a stand on a shelf.
Blue and White Umbrella Stand | I have a blue and white umbrella stand in my mudroom, and I get asked about it all the time. While mine looks like it’s an antique find, it’s actually new! Mine is sold out currently, but this is a beautiful option as well. These are such special pieces that will remain beautiful and useful for generations.
Blue and White Planter Set | A blue and white planter is a favorite trick of mine for making a grouping of simple porch planters look effortlessly elegant. Use this set together as a trio, or break it up and pair them with other traditional planters and baskets used as planters for a really eye-catching grouping.
