In today’s post I’m sharing some fun Canada Day decor ideas for a mudroom or entryway for all of my fellow Canadians to enjoy, just in time for Canada Day!
I’ve probably mentioned this before, but I always get a little jealous of my American friends during all of the patriotic holidays that take place in the summer. Americans just seem to have it right when it comes to celebrating their pride in their homeland and I love how they go all out with decor, parties, festive foods, and all of that. Canada Day is of course a pretty big deal in our country, but I always feel like we could stand to be a little more vocal about our love for this beautiful country of ours. I thought it would be fun to decorate the mudroom for Canada Day this year since it’s the first thing we see when we come in the house and also because Canada Day decor ideas are still pretty hard to come by when you try googling them. So I thought I’d make a contribution. 🙂 I’ll often put a few small flags out in the yard for the holiday, but I’m trying to up my Canada Day game a little bit, and I’m hoping to get better every year. So here’s the Canada Day decor in our mudroom!
Canada Day Decor for the Entryway
This room is really just all about my favourite things about summer, and Canada Day is one of those things! We have a tradition of watching fireworks while sitting on lawn chairs on the beach every Canada Day and it’s just the best.
If lawn games like croquet or bocce are part of the day before that, then I’m even happier. I love a good lawn game. 🙂
Our croquet set has seen better days, and I’m actually on the lookout for a new one because we just love to play so much, so the mallets from our old set are basically just decor now.
I love how my “home” sign that I keep up through most of the year in here kind of takes on a bigger meaning when it’s paired with this fun metal Canada Flag that I found at Michaels this year.
Other things that make for a “farmhouse in the summer” kind of vibe in here:
-Mini flags tucked into a galvanized pitcher.
-Lots of other galvanized metal containers, as well as the galvanized metal flag.
-Fresh greenery mixed in with some faux hydrangeas because mine aren’t ready yet. 🙂
-The mini white Adirondack chair (a mini version of the chairs we have around the fire pit outside), our beach/pool bag, our red picnic blanket. Basically anything red and white that we own that reminds me of our backyard in the summer. Ha!
So that’s what I’ve gotten done for my Canada Day decor so far this year!
If you’ve been looking for some festive Canada Day inspiration and haven’t found as much as you would like, I hope this gives you a few more ideas!
