Sharing before and after pictures today of the front of our house with the new front porch! It’s been a full year since we broke ground!
I’ve been waiting a year to put this post together! When we took our “before” pictures of the front of the house, it was about this time of year and we were just about to start building the front porch. I really wanted to compare the two pictures side-by-side at the same time of year since the seasonal changes make such a difference in the way things look. It’s amazing to see how much the new landscaping around the porch has matured in just the last few months since we planted it and it really almost looks like the porch has always been here! So here’s the official “before and after” from our front porch project!
A Quick Look Back on the Front Porch Project
You can read more about how the front porch project came together in this post here: Porch Progress blog post.
It’s funny because looking back it feels like it all came together so quickly. It seems unbelievable that this time last year, the porch didn’t exist, but now here we are using it every day and loving it.
Of course, it actually took several months and lots of interesting twists and turns to make this thing come together. Just like with all of our projects basically. Ha!
Have you been following along with our fireplace wall/built-in bookshelves project? Definitely the same scenario.
We finally finished the porch project up in early November, just in time to get the Christmas decor up for the season. And now here are, back in summer and ready to really compare to see just what a difference this project made on the front of our house!
The Front Porch Project, Before and After
So, here we go! Here’s how the front of our house looked a year ago!
Ick. Definitely don’t miss that view!
Well, actually the grass was a lot greener at this time last year apparently, so I miss that! Ha!
And here it is now!
Well, I’m pleased. The front of our house looks exactly as I’d hoped it would after this project was over. Now we only have three sides left and the whole house will be presentable! Ha!
So that’s the project! Thanks so much for humouring me and coming along with me for this “before and after” comparison experiment. 🙂
Have you added a front porch on to your house? Was it as big of a project for you as it was for us?
