Peppermint hot chocolates and peppermint mochas are an absolute must have at this time of year, and this slow cooker chocolate peppermint syrup will make it fun and easy to prepare both for your holiday guests!
I’ve always had such a fondness for all things chocolate peppermint, especially peppermint mochas, and this slow cooker chocolate peppermint syrup is such a fun way to create peppermint mochas or chocolate peppermint sundaes for your guests over the holiday season.
Ingredients Needed for the Slow Cooker Chocolate Peppermint Syrup
You’ll need:
- Good quality cocoa powder
- Sugar
- Water
- Vanilla extract
- Salt
- Peppermint extract
- Chocolate chips
One of my very favourite things about this recipe is that it’s made with things I always have in my baking cupboard so I can make up a batch of this whenever the mood strikes! I love that this chocolate peppermint syrup feels really special and indulgent, but it’s actually really simple!

How to Make the Slow Cooker Chocolate Peppermint Syrup
Combine all of the ingredients in your slow cooker and mix them until everything is combined really well. Any slow cooker will work well for this, but if you have one of the mini slow cookers, that would be perfect for setting up a chocolate peppermint dessert bar!
When you’re done cooking the syrup, you can either just ladle it right out of the crock pot, or you can transfer it to a mason jar and spoon it out of there if that works better for you space-wise.
Extras can be stored in a jar in the fridge and this syrup is equally good if you use it straight out of the fridge in your morning coffee the next day. You can even try dipping cookies or little pieces of pound cake in the chocolate peppermint syrup if you’re craving a quick festive treat. 🙂
