I just love a darkened house some days when I want things to seem extra quiet. So does my camera apparently. Or at least it did the other day when I was trying to get these photos of my new giant cast iron hooks.
This is the way I like this front hall we’ve been working on best anyway. All dark and shadowy with the grey Fall light coming in through the window.
We finally got around to getting a bit more progress in the front hall, which is good, because now we’ve got another big BIG project started up that I can’t wait to show you. A couple of them actually.
Wahoo! Yippee! About flippin’ time!… I mean.. Yay!
Back to the hooks. You’ll never believe where I found them. The dollar store!
It’s settled. You can find pretty much anything there.
These are extra giant too. I love them because when they’re not holding up coats, they’re like big ol’ pieces of sculpture.
It’s possible that I may be even more excited about them just because I’ve been waiting about 2 months to have them hung. I get nervous about drilling into these old walls myself.
After Chris got them up for me, I had a little “well, that was dumb” moment. I should’ve just done it myself 2 months ago. Especially after seeing how much more “front hall-y” they make it look in here. Does that makes sense?
Well, it’s just a little something, but I’ll take all the progress I can get.
You know what we need right now? We need a before and after. Let’s dig a picture out from a year ago.
Well, you can see the floor and the walls in this one. So that was the before.
…and after!… or rather, during!
Yup. I feel better now, don’t you? Whether it’s taken a whole year or not, that’s progress!
