OK, now I know that I’ve been telling you about how I’ve been writing a book for quite a few months now. We went over how I actually ended up getting this opportunity, and then a bunch of the other steps in the process of book writing too (click below to read about each subject):
Everything that happens before you even begin
When you have a disagreement/lack of mind-making-up with your publisher
The part where I actually did the book-writing
I feel like now though, this thing is for real. Like, really for real. My friends, my book has an Amazon page! Which means that I also have both a title and cover art.
Well, I’ve had a title and cover art for quite some time now, but now I know for sure that I’m actually allowed to share them with you! So here’s my book!
And here’s my book’s Amazon page! (and it has Barnes and Noble Page too! Yay!)
And since it has an Amazon page that actually means that my book is available for pre-order! I have a book that’s available for pre-order like a real, live, grown-up writer person!
It’s a pretty big deal for me, in case you couldn’t tell. 🙂
But let’s just back this thing up a minute. I know exactly what you’re saying right now. “Wait? What? The Cleaning Ninja? What in the world kind of title is that?”
A great one. That’s what! 🙂
Actually, we went back and forth over the title a few times because the original title that the publisher was suggesting to me wasn’t one that I really loved. I made about a million different suggestions to them that I would be more comfortable with and they liked exactly none of them. For a few months. And then they went back to one of my suggestions which was “How to Be a Cleaning Ninja” (same title as one of the chapters in the book) and instead suggested that we go with just “The Cleaning Ninja”. And I loved it! And they loved it! And we all loved it!
This title is perfect for my book and it really resonates with me because it really gets to the core of what I want my book to be for anyone reading it. It’s not that I want you to think that I’m a cleaning ninja because I’m so smart and I know everything about cleaning, it’s that I want you to feel like a cleaning ninja once you start reading the book. This book is all about helping you to feel encouraged, motivated, and armed with some super-useful tips and information when it comes to tackling your toughest homekeeping challenges, whether your house is already in pretty good shape, or whether you’re just completely overwhelmed by everything you have to do.
I think that what we ended up with is a book that’s really funny and light-hearted, but also really empowering, and it’s something I’m really proud of. Plus it has cute little ninjas with feather dusters, and vacuums, and various other cleaning accouterments, and that just makes all the difference. 🙂
I’m so excited to have my book coming out on January 17, right in the thick of New Years resolution season so I can be there to help you make your home even more enjoyable and functional in the new year, here on the blog, and now in book form as well!
I always love sharing cleaning and homekeeping tips here with you and I never get over how happy it makes me feel every time I get a comment or an email from you letting me know how excited you are to find a little tip that actually worked for you. I’ve saved a lot of my best tips especially for The Cleaning Ninja and I can’t wait to share them with you in a little less than 2 months! (!!!)
Thanks for helping me celebrate the countdown to my book’s launch date! I really appreciate all the love and support that you’ve given me on this book journey so far!
I’ve found my book available for pre-order so far on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, as well as Chapters/Indigo for my fellow Canadians! So no shortage of options! 🙂
