The best gardeners always seem to have their own special formulas for getting their gardens to looks their best and getting their plants to perform for them. It takes a lot of testing, experimenting and observing to get everything just right in your garden, but when everything’s really thriving and healthy, there’s nothing quite like it! I’m getting really excited about this upcoming gardening season and I’m hoping to find time to test out a few things to make my garden just a little bit better this year. I’m definitely still learning, but I think with the amount of time I spend watching the plants in my garden and thinking about new things to try, I can definitely be one of those master gardener types eventually too. Well, maybe with another 50 years of experience or so. 🙂
If you’re hoping to learn some new gardening skills this year and try out some new things, I’ve got a few ideas to get you started. I thought it would be fun to put together a list of DIY fertilizers that you can test out on your plants this year and that you can make right at home! I hope you find a few in here that get you really excited to start experimenting in your garden this spring!

I think I’m going to start saving up my coffee grounds first, like I’ve been doing the last couple of years, then I’m going to try some of the lawn tricks out and see how they do… then I might get a little bit more brave and try some of those more advanced ones later in the spring if I’m feeling really impressed with myself. 🙂 Do you have a DIY fertilizer recipe that you swear by?
