This time of year is always perfect for looking back on all that we’ve accomplished in the past year, and in years past, and then looking forward to the new year with big hopes and plans. For many of us, especially those of us who frequent home blogs, a lot of the little plans that we’re hatching right now have to do with our homes. The way our homes look, function, and most of all how our homes feel on a daily basis.
We’re in the middle of a reno that I’ve really wanted to do for quite a few years right now in our kitchen and it’s really starting to make me feel like the pieces are all falling into place just a little bit more than I thought would be possible for this year. It’s really got me thinking a lot about the things we’ve done so far in this house and just how different it really is in here compared to when we moved in. Which are the biggest and best changes for me? Which are the ones that I enjoy the most? Honestly, they mostly all have to do with paint.
When I heard about the CIL Beauty on a Small Budget contest, I jumped at the chance to talk a little bit more about their paint with you because it’s just made such a difference to me in how I feel in my home on a daily basis. Let’s take a stroll down memory lane, shall we?
I’ve been using CIL Premium paint since long before I first partnered up with them last fall for the Decor Experts on the Road tour. I’ve always really appreciated the value of that particular product and the fact that it’s so easy to use and helps me get all of my rather dramatic painting jobs done really easily.
Our master bedroom was one of those rooms where a little paint really made a big, and dramatic, difference.
Here’s how it looked before painting:
and here’s the room after:
Here we have Jack’s nursery before:
And after:
Kennedy’s room was so so (so so so) dark:
But it became bright and cheerful with just the flick of a paint brush!
Our dining room was a weird bright aqua colour, which may be popular now, but the paint was all banged up and was in pretty rough shape.
The room is now neutral and elegant thanks to the world’s greatest paint color, a grey called Zeppelin! This color honestly looks good in every room and in every house and with any kind of decor you can throw at it.
I’m slowly painting my entire house in it. I just can’t stop. 🙂
If you’re getting the itch to paint now, after looking at all the fun we’ve had with just a simple can of paint over the last few years, you’re in luck! First of all, from now until November 29, a 3.78L can of CIL Premium paint, sold exclusively at The Home Depot, is just $29! Also, CIL is holding a contest right now where you could win a 2 hour home design consultation with a specially selected CIL design influencer and a $5000 gift card to The Home Depot! How amazing would that be to win? 🙂
To enter the contest, all you need to do is share a photo of your own paint project with your can of CIL paint on either Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram using the dedicated hashtag #CILPremiumBeauty. The winner will be chosen by a random draw. You can enter once per project, so you can get multiple entries by sharing multiple projects that you’ve done!
This contest is open to Canadian residents until November 29th. Full contest details can be found on the CIL website.
You know that I love the magic of paint and how it’s a tool that almost anyone can have easy access to if they want to make their home a more welcoming place to be. I really appreciate that CIL represents the idea that beauty can be created on a small budget and continues to try to offer better paint products at a great value. It’s always a pleasure for me to partner up with CIL to spread the message about the greatness of paint!
I hope you’ve found a little inspiration to pick up a paint brush today and I hope that it’s one of my lovely and talented readers who gets to win that grand prize!
What paint projects are you going to be sharing with us in this contest?
