I just love Easter. I love the fresh spring weather, the pops of green here and there as the world wakes up from winter, the excuse to put bunnies in random places all over your house. All of it! Something about this time of year always makes me feel extra motivated to get a little crafty too and a lot of my favorite Easter decorations are things that I’ve actually made myself over the years. As I was looking around the other day, I started to notice that a lot of my favorite things are actually made from cheap dollar store stuff, even though they don’t look cheap at all and have actually been in my Easter rotation for years and years. I love the idea that with a keen eye and a little bit of cleverness, you can pick things out at the dollar store that will actually stand the test of time. Imagine that! I thought I’d share some of my favorite past projects with you today, along with some of the other clever dollar store Easter projects that have been catching my eye around the webosphere lately.
I bought these little ceramic bunnies a few years ago and last year I painted them! They’re so classic now and go with almost anything! I’m so glad to see that my local dollar store is still carrying these bunnies this year.
My friend Sarah from The Project Pile picked up the same bunnies and updated hers with chalk paint!
I made this egg stack topiary thing so many years ago from those plastic multi-color eggs that you can get about 36 of for a dollar and it’s still one of my favorite things to put out every spring. Actually it usually stays out until Fall because I never want to put it away!
I love how Salt and Pepper Moms combined a bunch of different dollar store staples to create this really classy little display that could easily be from one of your favorite home decor stores!
These Easter decor carrots are still one of my most popular projects three years later! It’s amazing what you can do when you mix the dollar store with stuff from your recycling bin!
Both my 10 year old and my 2 year old would go crazy for these Easter bunny surprise balls and it would look so cute to have a whole bunch of them grouped together in a basket!
These rope Easter eggs have kind of a summery nautical look to them. If we’re already thinking about spring, then who says I can’t be excited about summer too?
I would put these little felt Easter bunnies from The Happier Homemaker peeking out of an Easter basket and as a bonus, they could totally double as little finger puppets!
I always wish I could come up with more ideas for all those fun scrapbooking papers that you can get at crafts stores and at the dollar store. These little carrot treat bags are a good one!
These Easter bunny treat cups would be such a cute addition to a kids’ table at your Easter dinner!
I just love this whole display from Bubba Chic. She shows you how to get that Pottery Barn style on a dollar store budget!
Did you visit the dollar store for any of your Easter decor this year? What neat things did you find that we all need to know about?
