After Christmas home decor sales are a great time to pick up a little something for your home to make it feel beautiful and refreshed for the new year.

We all know how empty and bare our homes can feel after the holidays when all the Christmas decor is down and put away. A room that previously seemed just fine can suddenly feel cold and unwelcoming as we readjust to more minimal decor, cold January light, and those long, dark winter nights. I find taking advantage of the after Christmas home decor sales to find a new decorative piece or two can sometimes be just the thing to make my home feel refreshed, and can even spark inspiration to use things I already have in new ways. A new rug might inspire you to bring out those pillows that you haven’t used in a few years, or to rearrange the books on your coffee table, and that can be all that’s needed to make your space feel freshened up, beautiful, and ready to take on the new year. To create a cozy, timeless home with character, consider pairing your new pieces with a trip to your local antique market or thrift store for a few vintage accents that speak to you and make your space feel like home. I always think it’s the combination of old and new that really makes a room sing.

Ruggable
Ruggable is always my first go-to for vintage inspired rugs in timeless designs and color palettes. I love their new one-piece washable system that really takes all the guesswork out of laying your rugs down and keeping them flat. Shop their end of year sale starting today with up to 30% off!

Pictured above is a detailed view of the Rowan Stone and Soft Clay rug, which I used recently in a client’s home to bring together an English Country inspired sitting room filled with collected antiques and a bold, dark red armchair. We also used plaid custom curtains in a warm, taupe/green color and the rug pulled all the different colors in the room together so beautifully.
Two Pages
Two Pages curtains has the best selection of beautiful solid and patterned fabrics, from stripes, to botanicals, to plaids. The craftsmanship on their custom curtains is always absolutely perfect, and they really transform a room in a way that nothing else can. My go-to header style is a French pleat and I always get a white liner for a more substantial look. The memory training is absolutely essential, in my opinion, to get that beautiful, custom drape that we all associate with custom curtains. Use my code CREEKLINEHOUSE for 26% off!

After Christmas Deals at Opposite Wall
Opposite Wall is a Canadian wall art company that you’ll see throughout my home. Many of the beautiful prints that look like they’re vintage finds are actually new prints from Opposite Wall paired with their amazing, high quality wood frames. I love that the frames are so well-made and finished that they look right at home next to real vintage pieces. Some big box store vintage style pieces can look so cheap and plasticky next to real antiques, but Opposite Wall art is the good stuff and looks perfect in any situation. Up to 50% off store wide right now!

Home Decor Books on Amazon
After Christmas is a great time to find many of the home decor titles that you’ve been eyeing significantly on sale. I love that a home design book provides inspiration, but it’s also a decor piece itself, and helps you fill your coffee table, console table, or shelves beautifully. Here are a few of my favorite titles, and a few I’m looking to add to my personal collection soon.

LL Bean Home
When it comes to practical home upgrades, you can’t beat the viral LL Bean Waterhog doormats, and I’ll probably never stop talking about them. They’re truly indestructible, whether you put them indoor or out. I have these mats on both my porches and I leave them out year-round through all kinds of weather. They’ve been out there for years and they’re still in brand-new condition. I just hose them down once or twice a year and they’re good to go. I also use them inside our doors and as our everyday boot-and-shoe mats. They never let me down. LL Bean is having an after Christmas sale right now, with up to 50% off, so this is a great time to get your entryway set for the snowy, icy, salt winter conditions to come.
