This healthy chocolate mug cake really hits the spot and it uses all real, natural ingredients!

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tablespoons apple sauce


  1. Mash the banana in your mug.

  2. Mix in the egg, cocoa powder, cinnamon, apple sauce, and honey.

  3. Microwave for 4.5 minutes.

  4. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

  • Apple sauce can be replaced with pure pumpkin puree, greek yogurt, peanut butter, or almond milk if you prefer.
  • Add in some dark chocolate chips if you need the extra boost of sweetness that day!
  • Use ground chia seeds instead of eggs if necessary
