Christmas organizing ideas to help you deal with all of the stuff of Christmas: Gifts, decorations, extra food, wrapping supplies, outfits, and everything else!
With so much going on in our homes and in our lives at this time of year, staying organized during Christmas can be a huge challenge. OK, an almost insurmountable challenge. Let’s be honest. 🙂 We’ve got gifts to buy, parties to attend, get-togethers to host, treats to eat… and then there’s all the extra stuff that shows up in our homes. Decorations, wrapping paper, extra food, extra clothing, gifts, greenery, and a whole mini forest that pops up in your house too. It can all be pretty magical, but it can also be pretty overwhelming when you don’t have a strategy to deal with all of the extra hub bub that you have to contend with, on top of all of the regular everyday hub bub that you were already taking care of.
Here are some of my favorite Christmas organizing ideas for helping me deal with all of the stuff of Christmas just a little more easily.
For Organizing Decorations
These are especially helpful when you’re trying to put everything away nicely at the end of the season, and then of course the next year when you’re getting everything out again!
1.Hard Plastic Wreath Storage Case | 2.Large Size Ziplock Bags |3. CLEAR Plastic Storage Totes (So you can see everything!) |
4. Christmas String Lights Storage System | 5. Wreath Storage Bag | 6. Delicate Ornament Storage Box |
Christmas Organizing for Wrapping Supplies
1.Gift Wrap Storage Bag | 2.Gift Wrap Storage Plastic Tote |
3. Hanging Gift Wrap Storage Station (Love this!) |4.Rolling Set of Drawers (for bows, tags, tissue paper, etc.) 5. Rolling Gift Wrapping Station |
I picked up one of these gift wrap storage bags last year and it has been such a huge game-changer over the last two Christmas seasons!
Organization for the Actual Gifts
1.Small Plastic Baskets (I use one for each person so I keep all their stuff together! For gifts for people who don’t live with me only! | 2.Opaque Plastic Totes (for hiding wrapped and non-wrapped gifts and keeping them in a nice tidy stack!) |
3. Binder Pockets (for keeping wish lists, receipts, shopping lists, online shopping plans, coupons, etc.) | 4. A good 1″-2″ Binder (for keeping it all together) |
Organizing Extra Food and Outfits
1. Clothing Storage Rack (Christmas concert costumes, special party outfits, fancy winter coats) | 2. Basic Closed Pantry For Extra Food (If you need something a little more decorative) | 3.Heavy Duty Metal Shelving (For extra pantry storage in the basement. Simple but sooo handy!) |
4. Adorable SMEG Mini Fridge (Great for extra beverages!) | 5.Zippered Clothing Storage Bag (Sweaters, scarves, extra coats, etc.) | 6.Upright Fridge /Freezer (It can be either depending on what you need at the moment!) |
When you think about it, creating a magical Christmas for your family and loved ones and pulling it all off on time is almost like having an extra part-time job for a few months a year! With a little organization, at least it can be a fun one! I hope you found one or two ideas in this post that will help make your holiday season run just a little more smoothly! 🙂
