Do you ever find yourself dreaming about giving up all the complications that come along with modern life and just going back to living off the land in a remote field somewhere where no modern beeps, buzzes, or gadgets can find you and you can actually hear yourself think? I know I always have a little bit. Well, a lot actually. That’s kind of what got me out here in this old farmhouse in the first place!
We really can’t go back in time and we can’t completely shun all modern conveniences, and we wouldn’t want to. Really, that would just be a little insane. Who wants to live in a world without internet? 🙂 I’ve always liked to dabble a little bit in things having to do with that “back to basics” kind of lifestyle though. I find it all really interesting, and kind of encouraging too, to see what you can do with your own two hands with just the basic necessities.
I was actually recently asked to put something together for the Back to Basics Bundle and I was totally honored, but things are just so busy right now that I had to decline. I was a little disappointed though, because when I saw the project all put together, I just knew it was full of information that a lot of my readers and friends of The Creek Line House would really enjoy and more importantly, would find really useful. So I wish I could say that I had contributed something to this, but I didn’t.
If you haven’t heard about the Back to Basics Bundle, it’s basically a big collection of over 60 ebooks, memberships and subscriptions from the best authors in the Back to Basics movement. Topics include things like cooking from scratch, simple living, DIY, natural remedies, green living, frugal living, preparedness, and homesteading. Some of it is really basic stuff you can get your hands dirty with right now, no matter where you live, some of it is a little more advanced “next level” type of stuff, and some of it might even seem a little “out there” to some of us, but it’s all pretty interesting and based totally on practicality, which I love. 🙂 You can see the whole list of authors and what’s included here. I’m excited to read “Cooking With The Seasons: Winter Edition”, and also “Sustainable Lifestyle Design (how to not screw earth over in your conquest to live rich)” first!
So the Back to Basics gang puts this collections together once a year and they offer it at a 90% discount so all of this info can be available to anyone who wants to get their excited little hands on it, but they can only offer it for a week at that price. After that you’d just have to buy each individual book from each individual author at full price. For the people putting together the Back to Basics bundle, this little offer is more about making a difference and making this stuff available to people who want to join in the fun, rather than making a buck.
So I decided to go ahead and share this bundle with everyone over here on my blog even though I’m not really a part of it. Just from chatting with some of you in the comments sections of my posts, this sounds like exactly the kind of thing that would be right up your alley(s). Or your bumpy field access road, depending on where you live. 🙂
The sale will be going on starting on January 18th and runs for just one week, but first there will be a FREE 15 day Back to Basics Living Challenge starting on January 10th that absolutely anyone can sign up for. You’ll get a Quick Start Guide as soon as you sign up and then an email will arrive in your inbox each day for the 15 days with information or a little mini project on a different Back to Basics topic each day. Kind of a fun thing to do at the start of a new year, right?
