Welcome to this year’s spring home tour! Be sure to check out the links to all of the other beautiful homes in the Canadian Bloggers Home Tour when you get to the end of this post!
I always love putting together these spring home tours because it gives me a chance to start thinking about spring and playing around with happy spring-y things in my home right in the dead of winter. It always gives me such hope that warmer days are on the way! I’m teaming up with a bunch of my Canadian blogger friends again this spring to bring you the Canadian Bloggers Home tour, spring edition! I went through and re-enjoyed last year’s tour on one particularly gloomy winter day a few weeks ago and it was so inspiring! Definitely make sure you check out all the other homes in this year’s tour!
A big thank you to Christina from The DIY Mommy and Shannon from Home Made Lovely for hosting us yet again! It’s a lot of work for them to organize these big tours, so I hope all of our readers really get a lot of inspiration from them!
This Year’s Spring Home Tour Plan
I decided to do something crazy this year and NOT go completely overboard with the Eastery decor (like I did last year), and instead just keep things easy and focus on the simple joys of springtime. Trust me, it was hard to restrain myself because I LOVE Easter, but I felt like I was up for the challenge. 🙂
I do love me some bunnies and some Easter eggs, but I decided to maybe just put those things out a couple of weeks before Easter this year and not a couple of months this time around. That way my family can enjoy the other little fun holidays of late winter/early spring like Valentine’s Day and St. Paddy’s Day and not be bombarded by bunnies in mid-January.
My Cozy Spring Living Room
So let’s get started! We’re having some beautiful spring-like weather here lately and most of our snow has melted, but there’s still a definite chill in the air so I was going for more of a cozy vibe in our living room this year.
I always find this time of year to be so hard to get through. I’m so excited to be able to get outside and hear the birds singing, and maybe even start a little gardening, but the breeze just makes everything feel so much colder than it looks! Lots of candles, blankets, and soft pillows are in order, along with some of the other fun stuff that reminds us that spring is here! I feel like I have kind of a “spring hygge” theme going on in here, if that’s even a thing. 🙂
This is the super easy tulip wreath I made last year. You can read all about how to make your own in this post here.
We installed this faux stone wall a few months ago and I love how cozy it makes the whole room feel.
The printable came from Ann from On Sutton Place. She makes the most beautiful printables available for free for all of her subscribers and this one seemed perfect for me to use this year with all of the blues I have going on in the house.
Our dining room is right next to the living room in our house and it’s our favourite spot to sit on a chilly day and do crafts or put together a puzzle. We usually only eat in here on holidays, but it’s still a very well-used room.
I did add these cute little Easter egg plates to the plate wall in here, so I can’t say I’ve stayed completely Easter-free, but things are still pretty simple in here.
I made the spring blossom branches a few weeks ago. They were so simple to make and I’m thrilled with how well they turned out! You can read about that project here.
Spring Home Tour: Our Functional Mud Room
We’re just working on a big renovation of our main mudroom off the kitchen, which means that this little back door mudroom area has often been our main entryway for the last few months. We finished this project last summer and this space has really come in handy through the winter months.
So far this spring, this space has been staying true to its name. It’s put up with quite a few muddy boots and paws very nicely!
So that’s how things are looking around here so far this spring! Hope you enjoyed this little spring home tour! Don’t forget to check out all of the other spring home tours that have been going on this week already! You can find links to all of them below!
