Unclutter this Christmas and make wrapping alot more enjoyable with this neat and orderly trick to keep wrapping paper tidy.
Ever since I discovered the joys of having a dedicated wrapping paper organizer, I’ve been a little obsessed with keeping my wrapping paper tidy. I’ve always loved collecting rolls of beautiful wrapping paper, which I always buy at the end of the Christmas season for the next year. I have to admit though, that I did find myself getting a little frustrated and overwhelmed by my wrapping paper supplies during the dark days before my organizer. Sometimes I did go a little overboard.
I actually used to kind of dread wrapping gifts because of all of the mess that was created, but now I find myself almost looking forward to it. It’s pretty nice to sit down to wrap gifts and open up my wrapping supplies to see something that looks like this:
Obviously, my wrapping paper organizer is a pretty great tool, but I did still find that the wrapping paper rolls could start to unravel and create a bit of disorganization within the organizer. OK, that sounds like it doesn’t really make sense, but you know what I mean. 🙂
Wrapping paper rolls start to unravel and then the paper gets folded, and then it’s a mess, and then the tape sticks to it, and then the bows get mixed up in there. Pretty soon you’re right back to just not wanting to bother wrapping gifts at all like I was. And then pretty soon it’s re-used gift bag city under your tree.
The Trick to Keeping Wrapping Paper Tidy
So here’s the simple solution to this issue! The simplest solutions are always the best, aren’t they?
Take an empty paper towel roll…
…and cut a slit down one side.
Slide it over the wrapping paper.
Done!
This keeps your rolls from unrolling and it won’t rip or damage the paper the way elastic bands or tape can.
If you really want to protect your roll of paper and keep your wrapping paper tidy from head to toe, you can use an empty roll from another roll of wrapping paper.
You won’t be able to see the paper, but you can write a little note to yourself so you know which roll it is.
If you can manage to collect a roll cover for each open roll of wrapping paper, then your paper will always stay neat and tidy without much hassle at all.
Try to avoid using toilet paper rolls for this if you can. You don’t want to be gifting germs to your nearest and dearest along with your Christmas presents!
