If you’re looking to add instant character and charm to your farmhouse style home, or if you just have a big empty wall to fill, farmhouse style shutters are a great, classic option!
I’ve been seeing farmhouse style shutters all over my Instagram feed lately and they’ve really been catching my eye. Lucky for me, I happened to have a few old shutters that I’d picked up a couple of years ago hiding in my basement. I brought them out, painted them up, and wondered what in the world took me so long! It’s also funny because I had Chris make me a pair of shutters about ten years ago, which I still have, but I’d stopped using them for decor and mostly just used the awesome rustic whitewashed wood for a photo backdrop. I guess everything old is new again, because shutters as wall decor seem to be super popular again. I’m so glad because they really do bring instant warmth and character to a room and they really are a great easy-peasy solution. I shared this post on Instagram recently showing where I hung a shutter on my dining room wall. I’d love to have you follow along with me over there if you’re on Instagram!
In honour of my recently renewed love of shutter wall decor, I thought I’d share a few great options for rustic shutters if you don’t happen to have a pile of them waiting for you in your basement. 🙂
Farmhouse Style Shutters
This seems like a great 2-for-1 combo if you’re looking to get a jump start on your fall decor! 🙂
So much character!
It’s a little late in the season for this, but I love the summer vibes that this shutter is giving off! Great for a coastal style home too!
