That’s right! These fun, totally current-looking glass sunburst-type mirrors used to be a creepy old spaceship light fixture, with extra tacky on the side.
This light fixture came down recently when we put our fabulous new one up. We didn’t even taken any before pictures, that’s how much of a hurry we were in to take it down.
The two pieces were stacked one on top of the other and looked like they were about to take flight. When we took it apart though, I started to see the whole thing in a new light.
All it took was a couple of round mirrors from the craft store (I used a 5″ and a 3″ diameter) and some hot glue. Then suddenly, BAM, I had some snazzy mirrors. The lines on the glass really do look quite sunbursty, don’t you think?
They’re the perfect little something unexpected in my otherwise quite farmhousey master bedroom.
And they add a little bit of polish to this otherwise completely unfinished side of the room.
It almost looks like I meant for this side of the room to look like this.
Almost.
Until “one day” comes and we get the floors and the walls and all the built-ins installed in here, these mirrors will hold down the fort quite nicely.
What weird old things do you have around the house that could use a second look?
