Can you believe these spring blossom branches are made out of paper?! This is such an easy and affordable way to bring a little hint of spring to your home!
I am so excited to share these DIY spring blossom branches with you today! I made these on a whim one super cold, wintery evening a couple of weeks ago and I was so surprised to see how well they turned out! They’ve definitely been giving me hope that spring is on the way!
This is one of those super fun projects that are made even more fun by the fact that you probably already have everything you need somewhere in the house so you can just get started right away! I love projects like that. 🙂
DIY Spring Blossom Branch Spring Craft
To make these spring blossom branches you’ll need some leftover paper streamers, some sticks, some scissors, and a hot glue gun. That’s it!
First of all, I was so thrilled with how beautiful and delicate-looking these little paper blossoms turned out to be. I had plans to make them a bit more complicated, but I found that wasn’t necessary at all. I think the texture of the paper streamers really adds to the look.
Make Your Spring Blossoms
To make the paper blossoms, start out by cutting some little sheets of paper streamer and putting them in a stack. I found a stack of about 6 pieces was easy to work with.
Next, cut out a vaguely flower-like shape from your pieces of paper streamer. Perfection is not required, as you can clearly see! 🙂
Take two little paper flower pieces and layer them on top of the each other so that the petals don’t line of exactly.
Fold the pieces together and pinch them from the bottom to create a flower shape, then twist a bit to hold the flower in place. It will be a very tiny twist. Just pinch it with your thumbnail and your fingernail.
When you have quite a few blossoms made, you can start hot gluing them on to your sticks!
Attach Your Blossoms to a Branch
I just went out to the back yard and grabbed a few branches that had fallen out of the big tree out there.
If you really want to ensure that you’re placing your blossoms on your branches in the most realistic way though, here’s a trick:
Go out with your garden clippers and grab a few branches off of a tree that’s already starting to bud a little bit, and just place a blossom in each spot where you see a bud! Branches that are already starting to bud should be pretty easy to find at this time of year and this really takes the guesswork right out of where to put your little blossoms. 🙂
Add a Hint of Spring to Your Home
So that’s basically it! Just keep adding blossoms until you have a nice set of blossom branches to display while you wait for spring to arrive! I was surprised by how few blossoms it actually takes to fill a branch nicely, so this project shouldn’t take you too long at all.
These things are so darn delicate that it’s a little tough to capture how they look in the window in our dining room, but the effect is pretty magical in real life. 🙂
What have you been doing in your home to get ready for spring’s eventual arrival?
