With yesterday’s tragedy in Connecticut still so fresh in everyone’s minds, it can be hard for bloggers to know when it’s OK to start up again with posting. How long should we maintain a period of silence out of respect? Is it fair to just jump right back in to talking about crafts and decorating and family fun with so many families so close-by going through all this horror?
One thing is for sure: We’re all reminded once again right now to keep our kids and loved ones close by and to appreciate all the time that we still get to spend with them everyday.
I’m sharing just a few highlights from our Holiday Heirloom Recipe party today. Fun and easy recipes that you can do right now this weekend to create something yummy for your family and maybe create a few new memories too.
Check out this amazing chocolate pie from View Along The Way. My family isn’t really into fruit pies (I know-what??) so I’m always looking for a good alternative to my plain ol’ pumpkin pie. This is a definite hit-in-the-making and I love that the ingredients are so simple.
I’m so intrigued by this easy pie crust method shared by Whole New Mom. No butter? No rolling? I’ve got to try this one!
I’ve been quoted as saying “All I want in life right now is chocolate and peppermint” on more that one occasion, so I couldn’t pass by this post from Dawn Nicole without pinning this recipe for later.
Jane’s Adventures in Dinner is calling this one “Almontella”. It’s a DIY version of Nutella, but with almonds and all healthy ingredients. I’d eat this by the spoonfull!
Thank you so much to all those that linked up with us at the Holiday Heirloom Recipe party this week. We had a great time sharing recipes and fond family memories with you all.
You can still get in on the fun by downloading your free copy of the Holiday Heirloom Recipe book too!
Happy memory-making, friends!
