This makes a great Christmas gift for today’s kids. Many children now bring re-usable water bottles to school because water is healthier than pop or juice and reusable containers are so much better for our planet. However, the reusable bottles do get a little worn out when they’re used everyday so providing a new one just about halfway through the school year is perfect timing. Add in the personalized name and graphic and this idea becomes a real winner.

This is great chance to find out more about your local community by researching attractions or activities to take part in. It could be an escape room or a crafting centre, a high school play or special movie screening; you’ll be surprised what you can find when you take a real good look around. Big tip: use Instagram or other social media to find the young entrepreneurs and organizers who are bringing these activities to your communities but don’t have a budget for traditional media advertising. 4. One-Year Magazine Subscription –
This educational and fun gift that’s new all year long also lands in the recycling box rather that the cluttered toy closet or bookshelf. Important tip: be aware of auto-renewal subscriptions. There is nothing wrong with them, just make sure your little ones are still enjoying their subscription before it renews the following year.
5. Local Recreation Access –
Another opportunity to get involved in and support local activities. You’ll be surprised at what your town’s rec centers might offer if it’s something you’ve never looked into before. For example, our city offers annual skating memberships which include unlimited entry to all public skating and open hockey sessions with an added bonus ‘members-only skating’. I know Jack will take full advantage of his pass this year.
