There are so many great and creative ways to use coffee filters around your home! They can be used for cleaning, organizing, and even home decor!
We haven’t owned a drip coffee maker for awhile now, but I still make sure to always have coffee filters in the house. And it’s not because I just way over-stocked-up on coffee filters years ago either. 🙂 Coffee filters actually have so many incredible uses around the house that I find myself re-buying them constantly because they’re just so darn convenient! You may have seen one or two uses for these clever little scraps of paper floating around the internet here and there, but today I thought I’d put together a more thorough list. If you have some extra filters in a drawer somewhere that need to get used up, you’re going to be so happy when you learn of all the fun and interesting things that you can actually do with them!
The Best Ways to Use Coffee Filters Around Your Home
Straining
Coffee filters are great for straining out little pieces of cork when you accidentally get some little cork pieces in a bottle of wine. Just pour the wine through the filter into a decanter or a pitcher and all the cork pieces will be trapped! I’ve also used them to remove excess liquid from food. After reading a tip from one of my readers on my DIY Crock Pot Pumpkin Puree post, I decided to try removing a little bit of the liquid from a batch of pumpkin puree that I had just defrosted. Worked like a charm for the pumpkin bread recipe I was making!
Serving Snacks
Use coffee filters to separate items on a large platter or in a large bowl, or use them as little individual serving bowls on their own!
Cleaning Electronics
Coffee filters make great lint-free wipers for screens and monitors!

In Flower Pots
Place a coffee filter or two in the bottom of a flower pot before adding soil. The coffee filter will prevent the soil from falling out of the drainage hole in the bottom of the pot without stopping the water from draining out.
