...and then randomly one day, Chris decided to tear down a wall.

Remember way way way back in the day when I showed you how we had a half-torn down wall in our bedroom?

Chris started on that last Fall, just to peek behind and see what was there. Randomly, a couple of days ago, he decided to try tearing down the rest of it.

I just heard a loud noise, went to see what was going on, and there he was, working away with his crow bar.

It was one of those jobs that takes like 10 minutes and you wonder why you waited a year to do it.

If you squint really hard, it kinda looks like we have a really cool room here. We don't of course, but now we have a cool wall at least!

The plan is to do some built-in shelving over top and have the brick visible as the back of the shelves, but who knows when that'll happen. Chris asked me to paint all that unfinished wood framing just so it would look a little more finished until then.

Naturally I just did, like, one five-foot section so now it looks even worse.

Still, pretty cool, huh?

Hi Courtenay. I just started following your blog although I have checked in on the progress of your Creek Line House over the past year when it appeared on blog party linkups. I love this brick wall in your bedroom. Pretty awesome to have. If it's too dark you could paint it cream or white. Love the higher bed in your daughters cozy room too. You are doing some great renos and I enjoy seeing them. Have a great day! Blessings, Pamela

So cool! How lucky to have brick walls! You are so funny, it would kill me not to finish the trim. I say that however, and have lots of unfinished trim projects here too. Maybe just so I could see the white up against the brick.

was the brick wall originally an exterior wall? is this an added on room ? just curious :)

I'm in love with brick walls. I might just elope with yours... except I'm already married, and well, it's a brick wall...

And just think, when you get upset, you can literally beat your head against a brick wall!

My husband just tore a doorway in our drywall one night when I was going to work and my two year was walking around with his Dad watching him. There was a exposed electrical wire in it. I wasn't happy! :)
It wasn't as pretty as yours!
