It's a few months later now and I ventured back in. I thought I'd give you a little follow up.
So, this was my second time ever at this particular store and once again, I had problems holding on to all the awesome things I found for dirt cheap. That's definitely helping me to be a little less freaked out! Cheap treasures!
New rule for me: Never get a cart! I would fill that thing in a second.
Here's what I managed to grab in my little hands without dropping:
This yellow and black plaid blanket is real wool! Wool, plaid, and $5? You're coming with me. You may recognize this from my Fall Fair mud room post.
This set of 12 green and yellow leaf plates was only $6! I secretly have dreams of having themed dinnerware for all Holidays. Dream partially fulfilled!
You may have caught a glimpse of these in my Fall Dining Room.
This is a pillow sham that I have no use for. But c'mon! It's blue and white, and quilted and it was $2 less a penny. I will find it a home eventually.
I even found 2 more blue and white vases for my "collection". Does 4 vases plus a waving cat count as a collection? Well, regardless, they bring me joy, so I made them mine!
So that was my haul. I also saw a big old spool that would have made a great table for $9, a wicker picnic basket for $4 and about 17 lamps I wanted to bring home and subject to hours of spray painting. I restrained myself until next time.
Oh yes, there will be a next time! I may still be a little bit freaked out, but I expect to be making a full recovery... and soon!

Great loot! I used to have the same freak out about thrifty stores. Now I live in them!
Well done on some lovely item spotting.
LOVE the wool plaid blanket! I'm with you on the lamps - super potential and then we realize we would be spray painting for hours.... I think the same thing every time I see a junk store lamp! Good stuff!
Looks like you found some great stuff despite the fear! I always look for art in stores like that. I have found some great pieces. I like to change out my artwork for the seasons and that is an easy and cheap way to do it. xx
Great finds and beautiful inspiration! Thank you fro sharing at Potpourri Friday!
Lots of fun loot. I love the blue pillow sham - have a couple of the same ones, I think.
Funny post!! My number one rule for thrifting is bring hand sanitizer!!! I'm sometimes amazed by the great deals I get, of course some stores are better than others!! ~Deanna
I have to say, I don't do it often, I get itchy and I'm not sure if it is a physiological or psychological thing or not but, you got some great finds :)
Hi Courtenay - I sent you a couple emails because you won my giveaway. Did you get them? Please email me back so I can get you the prize.
Thanks

Haha...four is totally a collection!
Great finds despite your fear. I used to feel like I was taking things out of the hands of those who couldn't afford to buy elsewhere. Then I realized, those who are in real need, don't buy the things I would be buying. I still feel a little guilty, though.
Each time you get less freaked out! Great haul! Love the plaid wool blanket ... awesome! Four blue and white vases is definitely a collection.
I felt the same way when I started going to thrift stores...but I'm so over it now...love them..:)
It's my dream to have baskets all around the house with blankets. Afghans and wool plaids at my finger tips for snuggling.
Great stuff. I am a huge thrift shop fan and you got some really good bargains. Cheers Karen. visiting from Show and Tell Friday
Great finds! I can totally relate to feeling weird in thrift stores. I always feel like I'm getting away with something that I shouldn't. LOL I don't know why... I think 4 vases and a waving cat make a great start to a collection, but that could be because I'm a tad obsessed with blue and white myself. :~)
WOW! you scored on that blanket.
I love thrift stores. Do you have a favourite?
So glad you're over your freak out stage! I go so often, I think they might give me my own frequent buyer card!
Great finds - love your blue/white collection (it only takes 3 to make a collection so you're way ahead)!

My local thrift store is hit or miss and also crazy overpriced I think. Every now and then I make a good find but more often than not its a bust. I love your blue and white vases, I have some similar pieces passed down to me from my Grandma but they are tucked away in a drawer, I should bring them out!
Oh, too funny! I have thrifted since I was in high school in the 80's, have always loved it! I have found some amazing things at the thrift store. Lucky find with the wool blanket!
Oh my goodness! Should you ever tire of that yellow and black plaid blanket or those leaf place let me know!! Terrific finds at great prices :-) As much as I love Thrifting I still keep a big bottle of Purell in my car lol! I'd love it if you shared this post at my party on Tuesday too!
Super finds! I've always felt a little "weirded out" about thrift stores too, but I think I'm addicted now!
The blanket with that basket is so cool. Great score!

I was the same way a long time ago.
Now I enjoy them, and shopping the curb!
Fantastic finds! I'm long past being freaked out. ;-)
Visiting from Southern Savvy Style... your post title caught my attention! I love that wool blanket... lucky girl! Thrift stores freak me out a little too... but I definitely get that shopper's high when I find a deal. :)

Great finds :) Thanks for joining Creative Bloggers' Party & Hop!
If you have a good eye for fashion you can create a fabulous wardrobe from thrift store finds. Bring your patience though, don’t go in hungry or grouchy. Pawing through rack after rack can get tiring.
