A Fall Fair Themed Mud Room

Last week I showed you my string of lights that I'd hung up in my mud room and I told you how they helped to set the tone for the whole room this Fall.

Today I'm going to show you just what I meant by that!

I really didn't know what I was going to do at all in here this year. I knew it would involve corn, but that's it. It must always involve corn!

I tried hanging those lights up across the back of the room thinking it would just look like a disaster and the black plastickyness of the cord would clash with all the natural elements I had in mind. So I stood back and I looked. And it worked! It was obvious at that moment what was happening here:

The Fall fair was coming to my mud room!

The Fall fair is a place where flashy lights mix perfectly with corn mazes, food stands, displays of pumpkins and mums, and plenty of live stock.

Every Fall on (Canadian) Thanksgiving long weekend, there's a Fall fair here that we really enjoy going to. I thought this would be a great way to set the mood.

I used plenty o' corn, and some rubber boots for stomping through all that mud when you're visiting the horses and chickens.

$3 mums from Walmart get all fancy in a galvanized pail with some burlap and ribbon. Easy peasy!

My mason jar light got the orange ribbon treatment too! I'm a little in love with this orange ribbon this year.

This little wreath just seems to get recycled for every season now. It just always looks good.

I threw some fun plaid picnic blankets into a basket, just in case we need them when we set up on the grass and eat all of that delicious junk food.

We get the best fresh apple cider at our fair so I had to include a little reference to that too.

This old stirrup is always hanging on the wall here, but it's fitting, don't ya think?

Well, now I just can't wait for fair time!

Do you love Fall fairs as much as I do?

Love it! My favorite is the mums in the pail with burlap and the mason jar lamp. But don't get me started on that corn-I need to hit up some farmer's markets and find myself some of that for the porch-too cool!

I am actually a summer girl but laying in bed under a blanket on a chilly Fall morning is one of my utmost favorite things to do. Thanks for sharing. Love everything especially the ribbon around the light fixture.

Perfect for Fall and Fall Fairs. This weekend will be the third for us where we spend the whole weekend at fairs, and then we get a bit of a break before Rockton and Erin on the Thanksgiving (Canadian) long weekend.
