Potential, sweet potential...

...is something that we're up to our elbows in around here. Finished projects? Big reveals? Potential fulfilled? Uh... erm... um... not so much.

But the potential is plentiful, and it is sweet.

We were given these white Adirondack chairs (Muskoka chairs, if you ask Chris) recently. Given them. Just 'cause. For our fire pit, which we were also given. Again, I ask, why am I so lucky?

This is a big deal, because, you see, these are my dream fire pit chairs.  I've been planning to have them around a fire pit for years and was hoping that at the end of the season one year when the time was right I'd have saved enough to buy a couple and even if they were a horrendous color, I would just paint them white myself.

Then one day, bam, here they are!

So of course my mind is racing with all the potential in this little area of the yard now.

Something about these chairs makes everything feel crisp and fresh, even in the middle of all the construction, or rather deconstruction, mess going on everywhere.

So many ideas right now.... paint the fire pit? put in a brick surround? What about stone? Should I put in some flower beds or is just mowing down the creek weeds enough?

Something about these chairs being here now is creating a sense of urgency for getting this all taken care of.

I might as well take in this view before that barn out back collapses completely.

So we'll see where this little adventure takes us.

Chris is on a roll lately, so this may actually end up being completed this year. Now, wouldn't that be something!

P.S. Speaking of Chris and the yard, he just came in from the deck saying something about a tree fort... oh my...

Your new chairs are just so crisp and clean looking and I can just see you two sitting there in the evening enjoying a beautiful fire and maybe roasting a marshmallow or two.

Those are pretty! And the view is gorgeous!

My spouse was out with my daughter picking up donuts when driving back she saw out her window two adirondack chairs sitting in a neighbor's bulk trash pick up. When she got back home she said, "Daddy won't let me get them for the porch." Needless to say he went back out to get them. Their paint is peeling and they are really bright colors, but we plan to clean them up and paint them white. My kid is a future decorator. LOL

They were given to you? No one ever gives me stuff that good. And I adore Adirondack chairs. Take in that view, girl. It's a fantastic one.

Congratulations on the beautiful chairs. Maybe you can decorate a little around the area, put annuals or other plants in pots or tubs; then if you wanted to do something more expansive later, they could move elsewhere.
