Chris isn't too bad either, except this time, he screwed up. I had a post all lined up about how we've had these half-built stairs leading up to our back deck for the past two months. He must have been reading over my shoulder cause the guy went and finished the darn steps. Right out from underneath me and my beloved blog.
Now it's still a big ol' mess back there, but it's definitely not as ridiculous as having just the two bottom steps and then nothing.
Our house had this big long giant humongous ramp across the entire back of the house. He's been working at tearing that down to make room for a big ground level patio. At the time I took these photos, at least that little project was still half-done.
But guess what? He went and finished tearing that down too! The nerve!
He even re-used the ramp wood for most parts of the stairs so they're all perfectly aged like they've been there forever.
It's looking less hilarious and more presentable back here by the second! Now where's the funny story in that?
Blink too long and all that horrible lattice will be gone too.
Oh, don't worry though. It's still pretty much a giant mess back there.
And there are plenty more good stories hiding in that mess there, I'm sure!

All that work takes a lot of time... effort... and energy. It sometimes just seems as if it is endless. That alone can be depressing.
Gosh. I'm really sorry Chris finished those projects and your blog post. It looks as if he did a good job ruining your blog post!
:)
Love your sense of humor! I love it when my hubby "ruins" my posts, too!
Found you through Sugar Bee Crafts. Stop by sometime, if you get bored. I just posted a Summer Drink Round-Up...(http://www.potholesandpantyhose.com/2012/08/summer-drink-round-up/)

Maybe I need to start posting about half finished projects...maybe it will be the motivation my hubby needs to get some of these things done! hehe!
Wow, it never occurred to me to write about unfinished things. I always read about finished projects, or at least in progress and they progress. There is literally not a room in this house that is finished. And outside--forget that. We're both disabled and not wealthy, so unfinished is our state of being.

Ha! I bet there are a few stories in there. Well, thanks to Chris you have a great story right here too! I'm afraid that I would give you a run for your money on unfinished because I do not have a Chris to come along and screw everything up and make it DONE! Don't hold it against him. You will find your glory in having something finished... I just bet.

Hmm. I may have to plan a blog post about our missing side steps to spur my husband to action in building them.
Actually, that probably wouldn't be such a good idea since he's not handy at all.
I guess I'm to blame for not getting them built these last few months. Better call a handyman tomorrow.
Lol, maybe I need to write a couple posts about our back deck. It looks kind of like yours.:)
I am getting trim at my home in the same manner...bit by bit. I wish I could blink and it be done!
The nerve of that husband! How could he? You might be on to something!
Looks great Courtenay! I can really see the potential.
I just waited 19 years for my loft ceiling. Life is one big project, isn't it! xx
Such a cute post.....except, well, um, was THIS a Freudian slip?
You wrote this exactly:
"Chris isn't too bed either, except this time, he screwed up."
Read that very carefully.
I giggle-snorted when I did!!!!
Hee hee tee giggle giggle.
He's been working at tearing that down to make room for a big ground level patio. At the time took these photos, at least that little project was still half-done.
Thats hysterical! Thanx for partying at my place! Oh and btw, you don't even want to see my half done projects!;)
That darn Chris! How dare he? I think this may be grounds for divorce ... you don't get between a woman and her blog post ...
:)

Darn him. But YAY for the great looking project moving along!
Looking good! You crack me up! Have a good weekend!
Take care,
Trish
Well, shoot! WHAT was he thinking? I think you need to have a real sit-down chat with him for making your blog post take a hit. The nerve! (silently snickering at the trouble he's going to get into)
Haha those darn husbands! First time posting here, but I've been lurking for a while. It's quite rare to find a finished project in my house too...
My hubby gets projects three-fourths done... and that's it. Soooo many things have gone undone, but now we're in the process of getting the house ready for the appraiser and wow! He's getting busy! If I'd have known that's all it would have taken I'd have done that last year when I first inquired about it! lol!
Those are the kind of ruined posts we all want :)
following you now -> from Homemaker on a Dime linky party
Your new chairs are just so crisp and clean looking and can just see you two sitting there in the evening enjoying a beautiful fire and maybe roasting a marshmallow or two.
What nerve men have, ruined posts can happen to me anytime with the hubs! Like that the aged wood was used for the stairs. Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration with Sunday’s Best – you helped make the party a success!
Too funny! You just never know sometimes with our men. Thank you for sharing this at my Make it Pretty Monday party at The Dedicated House. Hope to see your prettiness again on Monday. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
LOL! Well, we can't really complain too much when that happens. Seeing the progress is always nice but the reveal and productivity is the best part! ;) Great job, Chris!
Have a great week!
