A moment later we heard a strange put-put-putting coming from outside.

We peeked out the window and saw a tractor. Then another. It was the Dover Cruise!
Around here, almost any tractor passing is reason enough to run out waving like a crazy person. For Kennedy, not me. Usually. Not that there's any shortage of tractors passing by all day, everyday. Kennedy just really likes them.

But these were vintage tractors. Hundreds of them. On parade. Thought the middle of nowhere.
So out we all ran to the front lawn. Out the front door we never use, even.
And it was the highlight of the day. For all of us.

Love it! We all sat around on our porch eating dinner outside tolerating the dogs and cat begging for scraps just to watch the guy baling our hay field. :)
For a minute I thought there would be tons of motorcycles (Dover being Port Dover and Friday the 13th.)
oh, yeah ! I'm in the country, so I'd be in the front row ! I know people who collect old tractors, and I live in a farming community, so these guys are TOPS ! Thanks for sharing your experience. COOL !

I love this! My parents were raised on farms and a lot of their relatives still live in the country. If I had my druthers, I'd be there, too! (Maybe one day!) I'm going to grab another cup of coffee and keep reading! :)
How cool! A few years ago I lived in a small town that still has a hitching post for horses (that still gets used!) outside a corner market. While driving I once saw a slow moving tractor get passed on the road by another tractor. I couldn't stop laughing!
Well how fun is that! I live in the country and see many tractors daily, but never that many all at once! Love it!
Oh man! I love that. I want tractors to come by so I can wave, but in our neighborhood they'd have to be pretty lost to do so. Thanks for sharing your country moment. Nice for those of us no where near the country to get a feel for what goes on out there.
