I don't know what it is with me and weeds, but I just love 'em. If I see a pretty weed flower, I'll always have to pick it and bring it inside. And you know how I love my dandelions.
I even love pulling them in the garden. One tiny weed can have root systems that go on forever. It's pretty fascinating actually.
We have these little white flowered weeds growing in last year's soy bean field next to our property so I had to grab some and see how they would do in the house.
Look at those cute little heart-shaped leaves!
I picked two bouquets: One large and this smaller one.
This is what happened to the table under the smaller one, so you can image under the larger bouquet. Best to stick to just a few sprigs of this one, I think.
These certainly aren't the flowers for a big fancy shmancy table setting. If you have an old farmhouse in slight disrepair like mine though, they're free, and sometimes they're just the right thing!
Do you ever find random weed flowers and use them inside?

Love your heart leaf weeds! Do I use weeds as flowers? You bet! In fact, my gardening consists of mostly what some people would describe as 'weeds', but I call them wildflowers! xx
You definitely are a gal after my own heart! I love weeds! I'm often found in ditches picking weeds for bouquets! If it's a flower it goes into a bouquet!! Love it!
(But I must confess I hate dandelions in my lawn. I love dandelions, but just not in my lawn!)

I wish I had pretty weeds! I'm not brave enough to put thistles in a vase. With a 16 month old running around, that would be a disaster!

I agree with you...weeds rock! The unwanted things in life can be the most special----:)
I love when my 6 year old brings me a handful of weeds and calls them flowers! They end up in a vase until they die and I secretly dispose of them!
Visiting from 52 Mantles:)
I couldn't find your email address. Just wanted you to know...

My next door neighbor has the most charming weeds growing along her picket fence. They get quite tall and have sweet little blue flowers on top. I am trying to coax them into my yard. I wonder how many weeds ended up becoming beloved flowers? Brenda sent me over to say hi and I am your newest follower.

This weed is called "shepherd's purse" and does have a certain appeal; however, here on the farm it becomes an unwanted plant. I'm also coming over from Brenda's blog.
I just came over from Brenda's blog too. I will have to go back through your posts to see more of your good ideas. Stop by to see me if you get a chance. Have a good weekend!
Feel free to stop on by and pick all the weeds you want from my yard ...
:)

Those hearts are neat.

Some of the prettiest flowers are weeds and I agree -- they need love too!
I love weeds too!! Flowers are flowers I say:)
I agree, many weeds are just lovely!
Many weeds so have pretty flowers. Thanks.
My son picks up dandelions each day when we walk to school - he loves them! Thanks so much for sharing at Mom On Timeout!

If it's ugly, it's a weed.
If it's pretty, it's a flower.
That's my botanical dictionary! :)
