Today's idea is a quick and simple one, and I like that, so I thought you might too.
I've been meaning to do this for a month or two, ever since I saw some different topiary shapes they were selling in the Pottery Barn catalogue.
I picked myself up a little $1.97 ivy from Walmart and 5.8 seconds later, I had this.
I stuck the whole thing right into this basketty plant pot I had. The little circle at the top was made from that 19 gauge wire I found in my cupboard that I used on my Hanging Mason Jar Vase the other day. I know I said it was 20 gauge before, but upon further investigation, I discovered that it's in fact only 19 gauge. Good. I'm glad we cleared that up.
So you can see why this is a Future Ivy Topiary and not a Right Now Ivy Topiary. It's really more of a plant with a halo. I could have bought a full grown ivy and just wrapped it around, but I think it will be a little more fun to work on it over time.
Plus, these are supposed to be really easy to grow, so there's a pretty good chance I won't kill it! I think I may even try a few more shapes. Give it a try!
