OK, I have 70 billion chalkboards. I really need to stop. But I've had this idea in my head to make a huge one out of a really ugly framed picture from our old house. So I did.
My ugly and bare kitchen walls are starting to make me sad, so I thought this would fill one up pretty well.
It is majestic.
I like it a lot more than I thought I would, and that's saying something.
For one, I actually enjoy the frame now.
The quote says: Spring has returned. The earth is like a child that knows poems. -Rainer Maria Rilke. It just made me think a bit, and I like that. It got smudged a bit when Kennedy was checking it out.
She said "I don't get it."
Well, it's pretty clear that this isn't my kitchen wall, but I'll have to wait for Chris to hang it for me. Plus I like the way the goldy frame looks against the rough wood on the floor here.
Then, about 30 seconds after the photos were done, here's what went down.
Well, she was inspired by our new grand and stately chalkboard. Can you blame her?

My own framed chalkboard was officially broken in by a little one too. :) It looks gorgeous! (New linky follower, btw!)
I love old looking frames for chalkboards! I don't think we ever outgrow them & I have this thing for making HUGE chalkboards, yet have nowhere to put one in my home that is in a practical place. So they get sold.
Love this idea! Did you buy the chalkboard and it magically fit or did you make it using that new chalkboard paint? I have wanted a chalboard for my kitchen. I asked hubby to cut me a piece of plywood to paint and he did, but it was full of knots. Don't know what he thought would happen when I wrote on the knots.... Silly Man. So it is back to square one.
Can you have too many chalkboards? I love them, especially your huge one.
