I made my 10,803rd chalkboard the other day. I just felt like I wanted another place to write little sayings or quotes or whatever. I grabbed an old beat up tray out of one of our half unpacked boxes and here's how it came out!
It says "Spring has Sprung". I know, I need to work on my hand-writing.
I was actually looking for this giant ugly framed print that we have somewhere to make into this chalkboard, but I couldn't find it. Then I just started looking for basically any flat surface that would work.
And this worked! I'm especially fond of the little twine-wrapped handles I did on it.
There you have it!
Oh, and, I did buy myself some smaller chalk instead of the giant side walk chalk I've been using. So the writing should be a little better next time. I hope.

Looks great, and I guess you can make one out of just about anything! I am so glad to have bought myself a can and have finished one and started several others.
Cute idea! Love those handles!

My daughter/blog partner did a similar project with a white meat platter from Goodwill. It's amazing what you can do with chalk paint.
Looks great! Love the twine handles.
There's got to be a recovery group for people like us who must turn everything into chalkboards! I so love them too, and your new one is adorable.
I think chalkboard paint is like the coolest invention yet! All of us diy-ers seem to be attracted to it like bee's to honey:) I would love if you could share your marvelous transformation at my cheap finds and transformations party, it will fit right in:) Have a great week!
