This time we're going to visit the mudroom off the front kitchen entrance.
Let's get to it!
I started out a couple of weeks ago by painting the ugly glossy forest green door this fun barn red and from there I was pretty much unstoppable, as I'm sure you'll be able to tell.
The sugar beet field near our house was harvested last week and they knocked over a bunch of neighboring corn stalks in the process. Of course we were all over that.
I reused my Spring wreath from last year and just added a little $1 fall sprig leftover from last year. It works! It'll have to since I dropped the original wreath I was using and broke it. How do you break a wreath? Seriously...
I picked up this great doormat from Superstore when we moved in for $6. I love you, President's Choice! The brass kick plate was already there and I love how weathered and rough it looks. I couldn't make it look any better if I tried.
Yup. We've still got that lovely peel 'n stick tile in here. In everywhere, actually.
I just got these new lanterns and I love them. 7 bucks each and they're huge! Chris and Kennedy found these giant seed pods out on one of their walks so we stuck them in with the gourds. Lesson of the day: everything looks good if you stick it in a lantern.
Then I bought myself these mums and wrapped them in burlap. Why not? Did you know these are perennials and you can just plant them in the ground after you're done with them? I did not know that but it's a pretty big revelation for me, I must say.
And that's the mudroom.
Hope you enjoyed your little tour!

What an inspiring makeover! The door color is fabulous and really sets the stage for all your fall elements :D
Loving all your fall touches! Very welcoming!
Everything looks really pretty and I love the color of those Mums. Alas, here in Nova Scotia, they are not perrenials -- just too harsh winters.
Ive been planting lots of mums - Love the colors of yours.
Oh I just love your fall decor! I hope you will add your lovely metamorphosis to my Fall in Love linky party on Wednesday.
Until then, stop by and see the under $20 makeover I gave an ugly brass light fixture.
Happy Monday!
This is so lovely. I would want everyone to enter through my mudroom instead of the front door....LOL!!!

You could make many more mum plants off that one mum plant just from cuttings. Mums are so easy to propagate. When it's finished blooming, deadhead all the dried flowers, you can probably divide it into many small plants for next year. Cut it back to a 3 or 4 in. from the basal rootball and replant it. Next year, you can start more cuttings. I started off with one bronze mum plant, and have divided it at least 3 or 4 times and rooted other cuttings.
Love the door with the brass plate! Great jar light fixture, too! :) Thanks for linking up to The "Autumn Décor" Talent Scouting Party at WhisperWood Cottage!
love this! would you mind letting me know the exact paint color name and brand that you used to paint the door? It's exactly like what I've been thinking about doing mine like... Thanks!
